The Kerr House, located in one of Statesville’s three residential historic districts, was built in 1891. The area has many beautiful homes on wide, tree-shaded streets. Most houses in this district are of later Victorian design. The comfortable atmosphere of earlier years has been retained to a large degree. Few intrusions mark this district’s appearance. Eighty-five percent of the present buildings were constructed prior to 1930. It provides a beautiful setting for a walk.
