Your hosts at Dream Catcher Bed and Breakfast, Jack and Sue McDonnell, are former Gunflint Trail resort and canoe outfitter owners. Jack grew up in northern Minnesota and has canoed extensively in the country known as the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Quetico Park. The guest rooms are named after favorite lakes in the canoe country. Evening and breakfast discussions often include topics such as memorable canoe routes and hiking trails, and colorful stories from the area.
The 27 acres of land upon which Dream Catcher resides was purchased in the fall of 1991. The Duluth architectural firm of Salmela/Fosdick designed the inn. It opened for business at Christmastime in 1992. Dream Catcher is three-quarters of a mile from the shoreline of Lake Superior and 750 feet above it. |
