| Recapture the charm and atmosphere of the Old South in St. Francisville's oldest established bed and breakfast. Sit in a luxuriant woodland with age old oaks draped with Spanish moss. At the Cottage, you may enjoy plantation life as it was long ago. It is one of the few remaining complete antebellum plantation complexes. Andrew Jackson was a guest at the Cottage on his way to Natchez after the Battle of New Orleans. The house is surrounded by spacious galleries. From the south gallery you can see the plantation dependencies including law office/school house, milk house, kitchen, smoke house, old slave quarters, barns and other structures that complete a working plantation. Guest rooms on the wing overlook the dependencies and the swimming pool. |

At the edge of sugar cane fields, Nottoway stands overlooking the Mississippi River. This enormous mansion, completed in 1859, reflects an unusual combination. Greek revival architectural elements blend with innovations that were the fanciful desires of the original owner. Not only is the floor plan irregular, but the house contained many elements that were innovative and rare in the mid-19th century, such as indoor plumbing and hot and cold running water.
Nottoway offers bed & breakfast accommodations. Overnight guests may stay in original bedrooms in the main house, or in the boy's wing, or the overseer's cottage. The Master Bedroom Suite is furnished with the original bedroom suite and other bedroom furniture that belonged to John Hampton Randolph, the owner.

Ormond's Bed & Breakfast rooms are located inside the antebellum home. They are furnished in period antiques. Each room has its own private bath., air conditioning and heating. The central section of Ormond was constructed (circa)1787, and the garconnieres (circa) 1830. The setting is unbelievably relaxing. You, as our guest, are welcome to walk through our home during your stay and enjoy the grounds surrounding the plantation home. All staff members at Ormond are anxious to answer questions about the history of the plantation.
Your stay will include a tour of Ormond Plantation, a bottle of wine and a fresh fruit and cheese tray served in the evening. In the morning, a plantation style breakfast will be served on the porch, or in our restaurant dining room. |
